Junior Golf Programs


Junior Golf Camp, Ages 5-7

Golf Camp for the little ones! These fun-filled camps are designed to develop golf skills in very young children. Emphasis is on safety, fun and creative learning for your child. Golf instruction includes short game, full swing and on course fundamentals. Basic golf rules, etiquette and good sportsmanship are emphasized. Each junior receives golf shirt, drinks, snacks and lunch on last day of camp with awards presentation.

Golf Camp, Ages 8-11

Beginner and intermediate golfers will enjoy this great Golf Camp! Emphasis is on developing the golf swing fundamentals, short game skills and on course management techniques in a fun environment. Video analysis and a variety of teaching aids are used to enhance learning. Rules of golf, etiquette and good sportsmanship are reviewed often. Each golfer receives a golf shirt, drinks, snacks and lunch on last day of camp with special awards presented.

Junior Golf Academy, Ages 10-13

This camp is designed for the more experienced golfer and will be challenging for those involved! Emphasis in the Academy will be on fine tuning the golf swing fundamentals, sharpening short game skills and thinking smarter on the course. Video analysis is relied upon heavily, along with other teaching aids. Pre-shot routines, emotional intelligence and on course management strategies will be the forefront of the Junior Golf Academy. Knowledge of the basic Rules of Golf will be important. Each junior receives a golf shirt, drinks, snacks and lunch on last day of camp with special awards presented.

Junior Golf Association

Newly established! The Junior Golf Association is committed to increasing the enjoyment and participation of junior golfing members. There are elected officers including a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and a Playday Chairman.

Junior Golf Interclub, Ages 5-17

The Peninsula Club has built a strong Junior Golf Program and a valuable part of this junior program is the Junior Interclub Team. The Junior Interclub Team program offers juniors an opportunity to compete with other children their age. The Interclub Team has four age groups: 8 and under, 9-11, 12-14 and 15-17. Throughout the year, 9-hole stroke-play matches are arranged with local country clubs, with prizes for the top 3 golfers in each age group.

Afternoon Golf Clinics

Afternoon clinics are offered throughout the year for the young golfers. All skill levels welcomed. The forty-five minute sessions are a perfect mix of fun and instruction for the kids. Many aspects of the game, including short game techniques and full swing fundamentals are covered. The juniors often get time on the course during the clinics. Rules and etiquette are reviewed often and good sportsmanship is encouraged.
